Belenos

Whereas most among the clans of the Tidelord are given to disdain of their rivals in the ranks of the Flamecaller, it is among Beatha's brood that the name 'Belenos' conjures a sickly fear to gnaw at the back of the mind. Possessing all the famously-discordant traits native to Ridgebacks, the pink serpent is also regarded as the most insane and disturbed of those enthralled by the sea-witch's power; earning this consideration was no small feat.

None would claim or argue that the Ridgeback isn't capable of producing armor no foe of the Tidelord's faithful would find easy to pierce. What might be said openly (and often is) entails Belenos' inconsistency in producing such treasures, his time otherwise given over to bizarre obsessions that border on the outright perverse, even for wielders of magic fueled by blood and lust. On more than one occasion, the garbled warbling produced by the creature came not from mere ravings echoing about his chamber, but proved to be hushed cries of delight as he mated the forge bellows.

More concerning, perhaps, is the oddly-shaped metal construct added to at a piecemeal pace as Belenos 'borrows' from the other enthralled. Whensoever a scavenged piece of rusted metal or slagged ore disappears from the offering piles of others in the clan, these things invariably re-appear affixed to the very-nearly-dragon-like monstrosity welded to the smith's furnace. Worse, of course, are the whispered utterances of the name of Belenos' mother, as sickle-thumbs are drug lovingly across the thing's pocked surface.
