Biography
Sihaya, the Frostfire Witch
Undermining | Ambitious | Cavalier | Charismatic
Not many dragons come into Clan Geist and resist Nherva's rule, even if they don't entirely agree with her methods. Only a few are granted ejection, but for some, that is the coward's way out. For Sihaya, it was the worst possible end to her predicament. A child of Fire lost within the wintery wilderness beholden to Icewarden, she was found on the edge of death and offered a choice like most others of the Clan. Naturally, she chose life, but not entirely understanding what that trade-off entailed. She became part of the Clan, she started to assimilate. But everything was not as cut and dry as it appeared. She followed whispers and rumors, delved too deep into what she thought was the truth of the Clan and Nherva's cold fisted reign over their territory.
Together, with a band of impressionable fledglings, Sihaya led the first resistance ever recorded within the Clan. She tried to overthrow Nherva and her Rimeguard. Her eloquent speeches in the cold dark caverns of the innermost lairs went unheard by the watchers and guardians, but were absorbed by the young and fit like so many sponges thirsting for a purpose and meaning in their lives. They flew willingly with her to end Nherva's tyranny.
But the lair speaks to its guardians. How their attack was foreseen before it happened, no one really knows. Only, when Sihaya and her brood of miscreants burned life-giving food productions, alchemy stations, spell books and scrolls, and began to destroy the lair, Nherva was waiting. Solemn and silent, with Ghost and Polaris at her side, the Queen of Ghosts smote the rebellion in one fell swoop as her shadow passed over them in an inexplicable wave of dread.
Sihaya was tackled and restrained and given her rare sentence. Taken to the Hall of Memories, stripped of any station or item of importance, the ambitious pearlcatcher was frozen in time for her crimes, left as an example for the hatchlings of present and future. Her followers were granted a pardon if they were still very young and probation if they were older. Most of them have fallen back into their former mundane positions, keeping their heads down and taking their pardons with broken pride. Others, however, are said to harbor hatred for what Nherva did to their leader and mentor.
The eyes of the Queen are always watching, her ears always listening for the day the budding rebellion might take advantage of a light watch and attempt to free their leader and finish what they began. But a child so close to the Icewarden is difficult to thwart.
