______ Winterplum grew up in a wealthy family, and though they weren't royal by any means, she had a comfortable childhood. There was nothing she loved more than to listen as her mother read her stories. Her favorites by far were the ones that told of magnificent queens who lead their clans to become prosperous and happy. As a child, she wanted nothing more than to become like the queens in the stories. When she was younger her relatives found her ambition to be quite adorable, often making lighthearted jokes on the subject, as they were sure she would grow out of her “childish” desire soon enough. But as she neared adolescence and her desire to be a queen remained, her relatives no longer found it cute, and the once lighthearted jokes had been replaced by scorn and mockery. Unwilling to give up on her dream and unable to tolerate her family's cruelty, Winterplum decided that if she truly wanted to be a queen, she couldn't stay here any longer. She packed the largest bag she owned with food and supplies for her journey ahead. Then on a whim, she packed the pearly necklace her mother had given her as a child, and her favorite storybook. The only goodbye she said was to her sister, then known as Winternight. During the tearful goodbye, she promised Winternight that when she formed a clan and made herself a queen, there would be a place for her there, along with a high rank and a title.

______ The journey would be long, but the most perilous part would be leaving her family's homeland in the Twisting Crescendo. She had watched the storm for weeks, trying to spot the least treacherous flight path. On the night she planed to fly away she held her bag tight, muttered a prayer to the Windsinger asking him to guide her, and headed out into the world. After barely reaching the ground in one piece, she took a moment to rest and gaze up at the Zephyr Steppes in the distance. That was where she was going to travel. She was going to form a clan from the ground up, eventually growing strong enough to move to the Reedcleft Ascent, then the Twisting Crescendo and, eventually the Cloudsong. But for now, she would have to be content with just a few dragons living in a small lair in the Zephyr Steppes. Her dreams of massive, beautiful lairs would be fulfilled in time. At the moment, she just needed to find a couple of dragons who shared her dream of a large, prosperous clan. And after traveling for several months, she found those qualities in a pair of dragons named Ondrea and Eryk. After becoming part of the small clan, Winterplum threw herself wholeheartedly into the process of growing the clan’s size and wealth. Her hard work earned Winterplum her place as queen of her newfound clan, where she works tirelessly towards her dream of leading a large, prosperous clan.
