Amythia started the journey home with spring in her step. A satchel filled to the brim with books dangled from her left arm. As she hummed, she pulled a book out of the bag and flipped to the first page. Amythia sighed contentedly as she started reading, eyes scanning over each page and imagining the vivid detail.

Despite being the clan's storyteller, she liked to read just as much. She still loved the way the hatchlings would listen to her weave intricate tales of the dragons who roamed before them, about Tidelord, and about their very own parents. She loved hearing them laugh and giggle, their small hatchling voices tinkling in the wind.

Amythia hopped over the mushrooms on the path and still kept her eyes on the book. Reading while walking had become a common habit for her.

As she neared the clan she put the book back into her satchel and smiled. Soon enough, the hatchlings started stumbling out.

"Hey, it's Amythia!" one called.

"Amythyyyyy, tell us a storyyyyy," said another.

"Okay children, settle down," she laughed, prying a hatchling off her satchel. "Here, follow me to my den, and I'll tell you a tale about a dragon who got lost in the woods once."

"Lost? That doesn't sound very interesting..." one said dubiously.

"No, no, silly, it's Amythia. She'll make any story good!" his friend called, dragging him with her.

Amythia smiled to herself. Hatchlings could be so funny sometimes.

She pulled open the door to her den and took a seat on the starry seaweed carpet, patting the ground beside her for the hatchlings to sit too.

"Alright. Once upon a time..."
