The Spark Foundling: Kirinecht

"Cinna, are you quite certain?" Therya asked the vibrant red tundra.

"There is no scent left on this egg," she said. "Whatever took it is long gone, too. And..." Cinna sniffed at the egg, pulling back when she got shocked. "It's very close to hatching."

The dragons looked at each other before saying in unison, "We can't just leave it."

"I'll carry it," offered Therya.

Kasdeja adjusted a shawl. "An egg?"

"A lightning egg," Therya added as she yanked a Zalis weaving from the hoard and placed the egg in it.

"That answers where you all went today." Kasdeja shook arms into existence and reached for the egg. "...We can explain to Ruthgdar later."

There was giggling from the dragons.

The eggshell snapped and zapped as it cracked, as if the lightning inside were giggling along, and a little Tundra tumbled out with his enthusiasm to be born, brightly colored and bright eyes shining up.

"... Kirinecht," Kasdeja breathed, and the woods whispered in a familiar song.

Kirinecht's ability to smell a mood is uncanny. At first he stays away from trouble, but curiosity takes over. Moods linger on objects and he collects things that hold sentimental value.
