B I O G R A P H Y

In his childhood, Ori was mercilessly teased about his shy nature and calm demeanour. The other hatchlings were loud and outgoing, loved to brag and jump around which made Ori stand out from the crowd. Like a duck in the middle of a sea of graceful swans, he was alone. Bullying targets one’s differences, no matter how small or ludicrous. Ori grew up alone, sometimes playing with younger hatchlings or practically serving the other hatchlings because they lied. They lied to him, they said that they would play with him, they said that he would never get far in life. The adults would feel sorry for Ori, as if he was fatally ill or was crippled. Ori didn’t understand why he treated the way he was, he never hurt anyone, he hadn’t teased the other hatchlings.

Ori didn’t realize that they were attacking him because he was different, he was humble and shy, qualities that were frowned upon in male dragons. Especially warriors.

Ever the hard-worker, Ori never gave up on his dream. He would train while the others were playing. He would train everyday for hours at a time, almost never taking a break. He would build up incredible endurance, strength and speed all while staying true to his altruistic nature and introverted personality. He grew stronger while never changing and giving away to the temptation of society, of being treated with respect. He thought that if he changed, they would stop shunning him but would only see what they wanted to see, they wouldn’t like him for himself and that’s what he wanted the most.

_BIOGRAPHY_

Soon, the Imperial in question and his comrades were teenagers. In that time, they had to choose their role in the clan, they wouldn’t be hatchlings forever and they had to help in some way, otherwise they were a waste of space, another mouth to feed. While Ori’s generation pondered on their job, Ori knew, he knew since he saw warriors training as a hatchling. Instead of wasting time, Ori continued to train sometimes not going to bed until dawn. He overworked himself everyday.

There was a time, when warrior training started. They trained recruits until they were old enough to fight alongside the clan’s Guard. When the other dragons saw Ori at training, they were in disbelief. To them, he was a weak hatchling that they always took advantage of. They never thought for a second that he was stronger than they were combined. He beat all of them in one-on-one matches and soon, finished his training a full three months before he was even supposed to.

However, not everything lasted.

_BIOGRAPHY_

One day, while every citizen was asleep and Ori was training, a group of monsters from beast clans invaded the Clangrounds and captured Cecelia, the Clan matriarch. Ori heard noise coming from her private chambers and decided to investigate. He silently gasped when he saw the monsters the Guard was fighting yesterday. They had come for revenge by attacking the leader of their opponent’s Clan. He saved Cecelia from the grasp of the invader and started fighting them. It was surely a battle that would be remembered in history. It was a tangle of claws, fangs, blood and screeches. After what seemed like an eternity of struggling and bleeding, the monsters retreated barely alive. Ori, the shy hatchling, had proved his worth in the Clan by saving Cecelia’s life. He was given his golden armour blessed by the Lightweaver by Cecelia and was declared Captain of the Clan’s Guard.

Now, he spends his days training recruits and playing with hatchlings, wanting to give what he never had to the youth, a friend. The hatchlings were charmed by his imagination and enthusiasm, he had the ability o make a game out of anything and convince them to play it!
