Demon Hunter
"I stood over a graveyard of whispering bones."
He felt his blood pumping in his veins as he tore through the sky. He could sense the Demon nearby. The familiar pungent smell and stinging sensation that Aether felt when he was close to pray was developing. He was quiet with his movements and knew that this, would be an easier kill than the last one. Aether was an extremely skilled Demon Hunter, one that possessed a bit of darkness within himself. The demonic presence in his body began to hum with power the closer he got.
Aether was no ordinary Dragon. He lived and breathed with the darkness that surrounded his family. His parents, Solenoid and Corona, were the very reason that he hummed and moved with demonic energy. They had made the ultimate sacrifice before he was hatched which had given them their power. This power, and curse, had stayed with them, but some of their demonic power trickled down into their Welps. When Aether was born, it was evident that he had received some of their power; his eyes shone with a power that was beyond a Welps. Aether and his siblings were stronger than most Welps, and each possessed a unique ability to their own. Aether was the strongest of his siblings, able to run faster, play harder, and was much quicker and picking up hunting instincts. He was more stern than his siblings. Although his parents were controlled by a powerful Demon, they were able to watch their Welps grow into adulthood. Aether grew to a be a very handsome Dragon, he took after his mother’s beauty, and the power of his father pulsed through him. The older Aether got, the more his yearning for him to leave the Clan suddenly pulsed through him. He always looked towards the forest; something calling him to leave and investigate. It wasn’t until a year after he grew to adulthood did he act upon this urge. The day was hotter than normal in the Light Clan, and all the Dragons had taken to the water to cool off. Aether didn’t care for the water as much, but he would often times find shade to lay in. As he laid down, he felt a pulling at the back of his mind. It usually would go away after a few moments, so he chose to ignore it once again. This time was different; this time the tug was worse and much more sharp. Shaking his head, he felt a wave flush over him. Standing on slightly shaky legs, he shook his whole body, hoping that the feeling would subside. It only got worse. He felt it tug his mind, and soon his head turned towards the tugging. As he turned, he caught his breath. A creature, black as night, stood at the edge of the forest. It was staring at him with glowing yellow eyes and dripped teeth. The pulling grew into a loud humming as his mind was engulfed with the need to kill this creature. He took a step towards the creature. It jerked more alert and watched the Dragon. Aether’s legs kept moving, and before he realized it, he was running towards the forest. His wings began to unfold, for he moved quicker in the air. The creature let out at a screech and zipped back into the woods. Aether landed in a slight run, tearing into the woods. He tucked his wings back tight, giving his body a sleeker and quicker run. He chased the black creature, never losing sight of it. The shadows engulfed him and the creature as he ran, blindly, towards it. It felt like forever, but finally, he was on top of it and tore into. Black blood sprayed out and up into the air. He could taste the vile bitterness, but it only fueled his mauling. A warmness trickled up the back of his head as this urge was satisfied. As he looked around, and realized what he had done, he knew that going back to his family was futile. His parents had to do this everyday, among other things. They had to deal with this urge everyday. Would he? That day, he decided to not return home. Instead, he took this time to leave and hope to find a home that would be able to cater towards his dark side. He wasn’t an evil Dragon; he was rather nice and would prefer to be with other Dragons. But his urge, which happened over and over again, led him to be more reluctant and lost in own little world. After a few months of searching for a home, he came upon the Plague Flight. The Flight itself felt darker, and he felt more comfortable being able to walk into this Flight. He was careful though; he didn’t want to take this place for granted. Dragons here might not be friendly. As he entered this Flight, he knew he had to stay here. The pulling at the back of his head was constantly warm, and he felt safe here. He searched high and low for a home, and that was when he found the Clan that he would call home. Deep in the Wyrmwood, Aether found a Clan that welcomed him with open arms. He was very skeptical of their niceness at first, but it became evident that they were very open and accepting. He told them of his urges, and although they were hesitant, they accepted him anyway. To this day, Aether lives with this Clan, his urges only happening when a Demon was close by. He found a home and a job that fed his darkness. As a Demon Hunter, and a member of his Clan, he had sworn to protect his home. He had sent a letter to his family, alerting them of his whereabouts, and he was met with letters back which were filled with happiness and joy. They were proud of him for finding his home, and hope that someday, they could see him. Bio by ShadyoFayx |
