Aphrodite

She is a beauty that graced The Wastelands in the home of a different clan decades ago. She grew up there and learned their ways of being hateful, deceiving, and wrathful even toward each other. Aphrodite, once going by a different title, was won as a "prize" by a particularly strong spiral and with him she birthed two children. Overall life was not great and every day was a struggle to get up.

It was luck, or perhaps fate as Nymph would say, that her "mate" was killed in a battle between clans. There was no sadness from her; the only grief she felt was from her lost children during the raid. She thought it would be the end, but this clan that tore her birthplace apart seemed merely interested in the hoard they had. She used this oversight to escape into the Boneyard and far, far away from where she once called home.

After two weeks travel and a change of name to better suite herself, Aphrodite ran across Angeline out with Styx collecting materials for the Clan of Rising Blood. A Shaman was something her previous life never had, thus she landed and asked them what they were doing collecting mere plants and herbs.

The three spent hours talking, and it was through this that Aphrodite knew she had found her new home. Sure, this clan was brutal to those that went against them and the Plaguebringer, but they had a sense of family and bond that she'd never felt before.

For a while the Skydancer worked on being an esteemed warrior, though mostly she kept around the hatchlings and listened to the preaching of Nymph when able. Her fighting skills are probably the worst out of the entire clan; still, it didn't keep her from gaining the Squire Hermes.

The two hit-it-off with their alike personas and some rumors have spread that they were seen together talking to the priestess Nymph. Such things were confirmed happily by the giddy couple when poked at by Ichor. Now they work together with Aajar on being Assistants to the clan.

Though anxious, Aphrodite grows more and more excited to have hatchlings again.

Aphrodite couldn't remember a time where she last rested so comfortably. Taking the tea in her dainty paws, the Skydancer settled further on the bed of reeds and hides. The skins of other creatures wasn't something she enjoyed but they sure were pleasant to rest on, adding to the thick bed of reeds underneath.

The tea smelled strange, but inviting as she tipped the cup up to her beaked lips and sipped lightly. The taste was strong but utterly satisfying, her tongue calling for more of the hot liquid and she obliged. Once the cup was half empty, Aphrodite looked over to her hostess and dipped her head, "Thank you, this is wonderful. What is in it?"

The Coatl merely smiled and turned away. Confused, Aphrodite glanced to the smaller Fae. The other female waved her hand in a dismissive gesture, "No need to worry, Nymph can be a strange creature to converse with. You'll get used to her after a while." The Fae moved into a more comfortable perch, small hands folding in front of her, "Now, I think it would be best if you stayed here for a few days, at ;east until we can find a bunk for you. Or even a den. My Emperor doesn't know you are here yet, but leave that to me. You will be expected to pull you weight, mind you, but that shouldn't be a problem either. I'm sure we can find a job worthy of such a pretty thing as you."

The Skydancer nodded to the information before asking, "And will your Emperor accept me? I mean, I am from a different clan. He has every right to turn me away." Again the Fae waved her tiny hand, "As I said, leave that to me. You work on getting rested and back to health."

"Can you fight", the Coatl interrupted, coming over to look down at the Skydancer. Aphrodite's feathered crest wavered slightly, though not that aspect of needing to defend herself. This strange Coatl female had an ethereal sense about her. Something far more complex working behind her placid mask. Still, Aphrodite answered, "Yes, but not very well. My old clan didn't think I needed much learning in that. Honestly, no one there really knew how. They just..fought."

The Coatl nodded as if expecting this answer. "Then you will learn. All in this clan learn to fight, whether for their own protection, or for the clan's. We will see what you can do tomorow."

"Nymph, don't you think she ought to rest a bit more? She did come a long ways to get here", the Fae put it. Nymph merely nodded again, "Yes, and she will. But she is also stronger than she looks. One might only see a pretty face, but I can see a strong warrior. The question will be where her strengths lie." That seemed to be the end of the conversation on her part, as the Coatl left the room completely.

The Fae frowned slightly but held her tongue. Whatever was on her mind she kept to herself, only looking back to the Skydancer to say, "Well, I guess I'll leave you to rest. If you have any further questions, please send for me." Then she, too, left Aphrodite to ponder on her future with this new clan.
