B e s p i n
Watcher -- Ambassador -- Negotiator

she's the first member of the Light Flight to stumble upon the Fenixis Clan. already a well-trained diplomat and negotiator filled with an endless curiosity of the world, she offers to help the newly established clan spread its wings and make a home in the Ashfall Waste. she adapts to the clan's life quickly, enjoying the rituals and traditions the clan follows, and finding her place in the warm relationships the dragons keep. however, it soon becomes clear that staying in the fiery climate is exhausting to the gentle Light Imperial, even though she never voices any complaints.

it's Kenobi who invites her for a race above the clouds one day, seemingly for no reason at all. Bespin isn't overly fond of the other Imperial, but she sees no reason to decline his request and agrees.

it's a fair contest and more fun than she thought it would be. she doesn't remember who wins, though, because as soon as she breaks through the barrier of volcanic ash from a recent faraway but massive explosion, it's like something within her awakens from deep slumber, bright and shining. her sight becomes clearer, her heart lighter; she spreads her wings wide and almost feels a weight fall off her back.

Kenobi gives her a smile once she finally turns to face him. "they say Imperials were the Light's first children," he says, "and an Imperial of Light cannot reach her true potential without Light's guidance."

Tatooine waits for them on the ground, watches the two Imperials land. Kenobi, fire and smoke, and Bespin, light and brightness, her every scale shining and glittering with the memory of how pure everything was up above the clouds. Tatooine nods at Bespin.

"I will understand if you want to leave--"

"no!" the Imperial interrupts, sounding horrified at the very idea. "no, i couldn't possibly leave now, not when i finally gained understanding of who i am. i just... i'll just need to fly high up every now and then. it won't interfere with any of my duties."

"i'm not throwing you out," Tatooine laughs. "you've proven yourself an ally and a friend, and you can call this clan's lair your home for as long as you wish. besides," the Guardian winks, "Clan Fenixis could certainly use a Watcher."

the Imperial Watcher of Clan Fenixis, Bespin spends much more time in the sky than on the ground, her brilliant light-coloured eyes spotting any potential threat long before it arrives and reacting accordingly. younger dragons are convinced she quite literally sees everything. Bespin smiles, winks, and doesn't deny those rumours.

the tall, noble Imperial is well-liked by the clan; her diplomatic nature helps her keep at least slightly warm relations with most clan members. she could easily patrol the skies alone, but someone usually keeps her company anyway, eager to spend some time in her gentle company. she's always a reassuring sight; a brilliant shimmer of scales somewhere among the clouds. now that she understands her own nature, she keeps herself in high spirits even when she stays on the ground for longer. the light in her eyes never dims, and she can, in fact, make herself into a night light, to the delight of some dragons and the mild annoyance of others.
