A long time ago, an argument Nightangel had with her childhood friend shattered their friendship. She was forced to flee to the Hewn City, but she knew she had to stop her former friend before chaos ran rampant across the world.
A long time ago, Nightangel's former friend cursed her in a fit of rage. Ever since then, exposure to sunlight would hurt her, forcing her to take cover during the day. However, it didn't hurt her the way it would hurt a vampire; it scorched her very soul, which meant her lifespan would be shortened if she stayed out in the sun. The Hewn City was the only place she knew that was never day, and always blanketed in an eternal night. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one taking cover in the ruins. Other monsters live there, too, lurking around corners and stalking their prey in shadows...
A long time ago, she used to care for this Fae. Selfless, charismatic, and smart all described her. They did everything together. But one day, her friend walked too close to a peculiar moving shadow. Nightangel had no recollection as to what happened, but she knew her friend hadn't escaped unscathed. She was convinced dragons were doomed to extinction if they stayed feuding in flights. She was a nervous wreck as she explained that only unification of the entire continent could protect their species from dying out. Nightangel played along for some time to keep her happy, but couldn't stand to see her friend in her current state any longer. One day, she told her how she really felt about her ideas, and this enraged her friend. She thought of everyone she had talked to that Nightangel, her companion since as long as they could remember, would've understood her, and came to the conclusion that only she could stop the end of the Dragon Age using whatever means necessary.
A long time ago, Nightangel drowned her former friend in a river soon after the curse fell on her. So when she heard a few of the Lightweaver's followers talking about her former friend years later, she couldn't believe her ears. She immediately went to work and tracked her down in the Starfall Isles as a resident of a growing clan.
A long time ago, Nightangel used to look like her former friend: a bright purple Fae whose scales glittered as they flew through the air at twilight. Now, after many years of hiding in the shade, her scales had darkened lost their wondrous luster from her constant absorption of shadow magic. But when she finally saw her former friend again, she noticed that her scales, too, lost their shine.
A long time ago, she couldn't even imagine hurting her friend. But with the eternal pain inflicted on her by said friend, only malice comes whenever Nightangel even thinks of her. The same curse changed Nightangel so much even her newly named nemesis couldn't recognize her. She remains studying magic within the same clan that Sylvia was in, dedicating the rest of her life to finding the power that will eradicate the false prophet whose dark dreams were slowly coming true.
