Born in Carrion Canyon, this dragon's journey was never going to be an easy one. Its egg was lost to its parents, stolen by shattered serpents who would have made it a meal if they themselves hadn't been. After it hatched, it made such a racket that a small clan of Wildclaws that had migrated to Lightning - insistent that they could live anywhere they pleased if they could survive the Wandering Contagion and the Shrieking Wilds. Among their numbers, names were not gifted, but earned. Thus, it reached adulthood without one. That was not to say it wasn't loved, however, and one of the male wildclaws raised it as a father would. He helped it train in fighting and hunting, and it was during these training sessions that it wandered to the edge of the Shifting Expanse. Over time, it saw the great ocean, the Sunbeam Ruins, the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and the Ashfall Waste - from a distance. Its father told it stories of the Viridian Labyrinth and the Scarred Wasteland. It had, by this time, reached full maturity, and after much deliberation, it decided that in adulthood, it would embark on a journey of its own, wherever it might be taken. When its father heard what it planned, he bid that it take a necklace to remember him by, and thus, it received the necklace it wears to this day, and began its journey - knowing that when it had accomplished great things, it would find its true calling and true name. Weeks into its journey, it came upon a clan in the Ashfall Waste run by two tiny fae and decided that the first step on this journey was to learn their culture. Frederick was able to tell it stories of the Tangled Wood, and one of the elders told it of the Windswept Plateau. With so many dragons from all walks of life, it realized it had found a place where it could learn much, and set about doing just that, helping to provide for its new clan in any way it could. |
