Hoku is precise and quick on his feet, but he'd prefer to use his talents for fleeing instead of fighting. Hoku is a pacifist by nature, and if attacked while alone, he would be ultimately defenseless. His sharp claws present little challenge with no will behind them.

B I O G R A P H Y

Hoku is an oddity among Mirrors. He possesses none of the savagery or insatiable hunger characteristic of his breed; he is a poor hunter, unable to bring himself to bloody his claws on even the most defenseless of prey. His weakness, present even in childhood, was the catalyst for his poor treatment as a hatchling -- deemed pathetic by the Boneyard pack he was born into, he was chased away by his own parents and left to die in the filthy wastes of Plague territory.

Soon after, he heard the Voice for the first time. It was less a voice of sound, and more a voice of sensation -- an ill feeling that tugged at him in his dreams,
whispering in a language of restless nights and cold shivers. The Voice was a presence, and it called to the abandoned hatchling, pulling him forward through the Scarred Wasteland even when his little paws seemed too weak to carry him. He walked, though he didn't know where; he went for days and weeks without eating, sleeping, or resting, even when the exhaustion should have killed the hatchling. Eventually, he collapsed on the shores of an unfamiliar territory, far from his birth home.

He was discovered by members of a Water clan, who took the weakened and starved hatchling in and nursed him back to health. It took months to fully recover,
but as he did, he was showered with the warmth and generosity of Clan Warden, his saviours.
By the time he was strong enough to leave, he knew he never would. He had never felt such unconditional kindness. The Voice had brought him here for a reason...

_THE VOICE_

____Not long after settling into Clan Warden, it became apparent to Hoku that he could no longer hear the enigmatic Voice that had called to him in his most dire time of need. Though he was curious as to its origins, he was also undeniably afraid; it had been a force beyond his understanding, otherworldly and incomprehensible in its motives. Hoku did his best to put it out of his mind, as if it had been nothing but a nightmare.

____Then he met Eris. The dull-coloured Coatl was the clan's fisher, and had a reputation among the clan as a trickster and sneak. When he met her, her voice seemed to echo through his very skull -- a simple introduction sent chills down to his bones and sinews, shaking him. He knew her voice...and the mischievous look in her eyes seemed imprinted on his every thought. There was something more to this Coatl.
Something only he could see.

_DANCER_

____Being as delicate as he is, Hoku had trouble adjusting to clan life at first. Too fainthearted to hunt, he was instead given the task of gathering and foraging. Hoku's natural dexterity and attention to detail showed itself early on, and he was often enlisted by other clan members in small tasks such as the making of fishing nets and the harvesting of vital medicinal materials. His true interest, however, became apparent when he first saw a performance by Ujicha's band of entertainers.

____Mesmerized by the dancing and music in the performance, Hoku shyly approached Ujicha and asked to be her apprentice --
to which the entertainer happily agreed. Hoku took to dance and song like a bird to flight, and soon, he was mesmerizing audiences of his own with his graceful and enchanting movements.
Hoku can often be found draped in fine silks, practicing his dances.
