Biography
Barracuda is a natural leader, the founder of her clan. But it took her a while to get there. Barracuda was born in the Ashfall Waste, deep inside the Fire Flight's territory. She wandered alone for days, having to fight varying enemies to survive each day. Soon, she settled into an abandoned lair somewhere in the Emberglow Hearth. But the lair wasn't abandoned. Silver flashed in the corner of Barracuda's eye. She whirled, ready to fight. But whatever it was had disappeared. Unnerved, Barracuda warily made herself a nest. She was anxious, but tiredness was starting to overcome her. She laid her head down, and drifted into a calm sleep. Barracuda awoke to a crash somewhere in the lair. She sat bolt upright, looking around, scanning the area. A small creature was pouncing about nearby- some kind of silver genie's lamp with a spectral fox coming out of it in wisps of purple-blue smoke. The creature pivoted its head to study Barracuda curiously. As it realized the dragon wasn't a threat, it curled up calmly under Barracuda's wing. A Vulpine Lamp. Barracuda realized. She must've gotten lost after last Night of the Nocturne and couldn't find her way back to her family. She looked down at the ghostlike fox. Don't worry. I'll take care of you. |
Suddenly, something echoed down the tunnels. Something like talonsteps. "Who's there?" Barracuda growled, being careful not to scare the Vulpine Lamp. "If you're here to fight, I warn you, I will protect my new home." "I don't want to fight you." The other dragon hissed. "I want to join you. I'm impressed, honestly. You went from a nameless rogue to the founder of a clan in one night." "A clan?" Barracuda echoed, bewildered. "Yes." The other dragon smiled. "I'm going to join you here. And I won't be the only one. We're going to lead this clan together. And it's going to be wonderful. Peaceful." "What's your name?" Barracuda tilted her head at him. He smiled. "My name is Volcano." After a short time, Volcano was right. Several more dragons did join the clan after that day, and soon, Barracuda and Volcano had a thriving civilization. Barracuda later took Volcano as her mate, and the Vulpine Lamp as her familiar. In the end, Barracuda was a formidable leader. But she was also noble, reasonable, and loyal above all else. |
