______ Achorai might be the great general of the Hollow's armies, and none can argue that those who serve in the honor guard dubbed 'Whiteout' are each fierce and potent warriors in their own right; after all, nothing less but excellence is accepted for those who choose to defend the Hollow. That said, without question, the most dangerous dragon in single combat, is Balthasar; the Hollow's Champion. He fights like a dragon with nothing to lose, perhaps, in part, because that's true.

______ Balthasar doesn't talk much about his past although the broad strokes of it are well known; most know better than to pry. He was the first to follow Revelry when she left her home among the Fae. Some are even aware that, like Revelry, he was one of the small dragons before undertaking the magic that changed his very nature. What most don't know is that he's never adjusted to the Skydancer's natural empathy. He feels it far more keenly than most of his kind. The press of other's emotions are almost painful; driving him to solitude and smaller numbers. It is also where his keen foresight in combat comes from, an advantage that he has honed to a razor's edge.

______ These days, Balthasar has found some small measure of comfort in his mate, although they are still very much in the early days of their pairing. There has been some tension, too, as his much younger mate is the daughter of one of the battle maidens he fights alongside in the Whiteout.

Hatchlings of Isis and Balthasar could take after their stargazing mother or their fierce and reclusive father. Isis is heavily involved with her hatchlings, often taking them above the Hollow to see the wintery night sky. Their sire, Balthasar, is perhaps more distant but certainly not absent. Offspring that take to more martial arts are likely to get special attention from their sire as he ensures they're likely to survive their vocation.
