Biography
A progenitor of the House of Precious Stones, Tobias is the odd Tundra dragon in that she loves the warm weather of the Starfall Isles. She can usually be found sunning herself or cuddling with similarly inclined dragons.

A long time ago... a lone egg, nestless and parentless, cracked open on the shores of the Starfall Isles. The hatchling inside, blue as the sky and pink as crystal, blinked up at the stars and smiled. While others may have cursed the Arcanist and his ilk for their curiosity, all Tobias could see was the beauty of the cosmos.
As she grew, no form of art could ever truly capture the rapturous transcendence of that first moment of her life: no poetry, no painting, no arrangement of oddly shaped elements in three dimensional space. But she loved it all anyway, and developed an obsession with the beautiful.
Tobias dreamed of creating a clan where no petty squabbles, no shows of strength could be as important as an understanding and appreciation of aesthetics. There could surely be no real strife in a community of people who prized art over all else. Naive, perhaps? Maybe.
When she met a like mind in her partner Daisy, they together created the House of Precious Stones. This name was in honor of the Crystalspine mountain the House then resided entirely within, and carried Tobias and Daisy's intent for each member of the House becoming as polished, shining, and faceted as a precious jewel.
Tobias, who never cared for politics or project management, assumed this would happen naturally, like erosion creating a beautiful coastline. She spent those early days helping others create their elaborate nests, staging galleries, and encouraging the beauty of love and intimacy among the House.
Too soon that need for knowledge that so filled the hearts of many born under the Arcanist filtered in. More members who wanted more than to see or to depict, but to understand. Tobias despaired at her House's ruin, but Frederick, a transplant and budding archivist, and Guinevere, a hatchling who cared not for exaltation and instead sought out a new home in the House in order to begin her studies, advised her not to give up. They showed her that there was some strange beauty in numbers and the base reduction of life into data, and in that exciting facet of both magic and science: the unknown.
Tobias thought... if beauty truly was in the eye of the beholder, then who was she to call how these other dragons saw the world unbeautiful? She thought for a long time about this.
She had retreated into hibernation when the curse struck the House. She and the rest slept for a long time, and Tobias dreamed about the stars and all their firey cold beauty. But the longer she slept, the stranger the stars seemed to look...
Years passed in silence until the curse broke. Was it random chance, a total fluke? The actions of another clan, the butterfly effect? Maybe the curse always had an expiration date.
Tobias stirred in her den, her mate's collection of dried flowers turning to dust that caught in her fur. Slow and tired, she clawed up through winding tunnels to an exit to sunlight. The world had changed while she had slept. She could barely take it all in. Around her, other members of the House stumbled, bleary-eyed, onto the ledges of their lair. A passing Guardian stopped to check out the commotion. They introduced themself as Wingthunder.
