Because of the familiar I actually got the idea that he could be a familiar trainer/baby sitter. Sometimes, a small rabbit or a shy unicorn might be just a little scared when a 20 meters long imperial march up to it and demand them to be friends.
This is the boy who'll teach said imperial how you should probably not send your new, terrified familiar a charming (teeth filled) grin as the first thing.
He does this with enorm patience and an impressive understanding of people. He can read the body language of almost anyone, making it as good as impossible to lie to him. This has always given him the, sometimes ungrateful, title as everyone's stern but fair second dad.
He's calm and very fair with a great sense of justice and amazing at solving conflicts. This is the dragon breaking up fights between hatchlings and sternly telling them it'll never happen again, right? But he's also the one marching up to the clan leader telling them that their decision is wrong.
