BIOGRAPHY

Varya: Eccentric, brilliant, and creative; faithful husband, and fearless leader.

______ Varya was frequently mistaken for a female while he was growing up. He was not particularly strong or fierce, and he was small and weak even by Fae standards. Because of this, he developed other strengths. He devoted himself to studying engineering, mathematics, science, and magic.

Now, he is the leader of the Umber Guild. He is a forward-thinker, and he leads with a vision of the future. His experiments and inventions put his guild on the forefront of dragon knowledge and development. He strongly believes that each dragon has his or her own strengths, if only they have the courage to find them. Over time, he has even developed ways to change the species, patterns, and colors of the dragons in the Umber Guild!

Most of his guild is appreciative of his innovative ways. However, his experiments DO have a tendency to explode, melt, spin, shriek, and generally cause havok. So everyone gives his work station a wide berth, including the hatchlings. Varya doesn't mind - in fact, he mostly doesn't even notice, because he's too engrossed in what he's working on.

At the GG festival:
A distinguished old coatl settles himself in front of the stand, gently ruffling his feathers into place.

"Well, I do say, I'm quite a star at these types of games! Why, I used to know all the creatures native to the Crystalspine Reaches, and a lot more besides."

He peers nearsightedly at the board for a while.

"Hmm, yes, well, the first one is obviously..." There is a long pause, and then he clears his throat. "Quite. Right. Yes. I'm sure I've seen the second one around here somewhere..."

Last day:

Sugi sees a familiar face walking over to her today. It's Varya, the coatl gentleman from the first day of the festival.

"Hello!" he greets you. "I just wanted to thank you so much for all your help during the Greenskeeper Gathering. My clan has not stopped talking about your animal guessing game all week!" He smiles.

"I heard you helped Orchid, even though she's hyper and difficult to understand most of the time. And Willow had much more fun the rest of the week after you showed her she could put everything in a leaf bag. Now she carries that bag around with her everywhere, just in case. Fern is very shy, I'm surprised you made him comfortable enough to play. And I'm so glad he got to enjoy the festival too! Fir doesn't really like guessing games, but she told everyone who would listen how friendly and understanding you were."

"And my wife hasn't had this much fun in ages. She definitely beat me, not that I'll ever admit it to her!" he laughs.

"For all your help in making this week wonderful, I'd like to give you a little something in return." He pulls out a huge, magnificent red rose from behind his back, and hands it to Sugi along with his clan's answers for the final day.
