Biography

Estelle was born and raised in a prestigious clan of wealthy noblesmen, though it never meant much to her. Her parents had never been close to their daughter. "She has such a wild imagination," they would say. "She's out of control. We don't have time for raging hatchlings. She'll only grow up to be a menace."

Estelle knew her parents didn't care for her. So when they finally abandoned her, she wasn't surprised. Left at the Trading Post, she stayed there for days. She knew the vendors would send her back to her parents if she told them their names. So she didn't.

Giving up on the hopeless case, Baldwin finally sent her the address of a clan that would take her in. Reason won out over distrust eventually. She couldn't stay clanless. She had nowhere to go. 		Jar of Vapors

The Ashkeepers were a small clan when she arrived, and she didn't trust anyone. She stayed holed up in her room, and she didn't reach out to others. Until Darkwind stumbled into her room one day, she was all alone, and might have stayed that way.

It had been an accident. He had the wrong door, he should go, he's so sorry for intruding...

It's fine, she said. You don't have to apologize.

She was struck dumb, and immediately nervous. He was quiet and anxious. He wasn't what she was expecting at all.

She wondered what he thought of her.

And secretly, he wondered the same thing.
