Abandoned as a hatchling, Sunscale wondered around aimlessly. Along the way he faced many hardships. For years he struggled to survive. On more than one occasion he almost lost his life. One day, he unknowingly wonderd into the Wispwillow Grove. It took him awhile for his eyes to adjust to the lack of light. Once they were he noticed something. The area was dimly lit up with glowing mushrooms of various sizes. He looks around in amazement and wonder.

Another imperial caught his eye. The young miss noticed him looking her way and approached him. She greeted him with a warm smile.
" Hello there, traveler. You look exausted. My clan isn't too far from here. You're welcome to rest your wings there if you'd like. "
He smiled back, greatful for her kindness.
"' Thank you, miss. I appreciate it. Such kindness is hard to find nowadays. "
She leads him to the clan Ravenwood. There they were approached by one of the sentinels; Ravena. His guide and Ravena exchanged greetings. The sentinel looked at him and her eyes softened.
"Hello, Sunscale. Beauty told me what all you've been through. Let's get you cleaned up and fill that stomach of yours! Why, you're practically scales and bone! You can meet the leader later."
Shocked by the sudden motherly affection, Sunscale looks at beauty with pleading eyes. She smiles in reassurance as he's practically dragged into the clan boundaries.

As the seasons pass, he grows accustomed to his newfound home. He learned that the leader is Beauty's adopted father and that her birth parents had fallen in the last battle. Sunscale loves Xerxes library. Beauty has to practically drag him out of there. He was especially fond of the alchemist books. He started practicing what was in the books. Eventually he became the clan Alchemist.
