- Noctra belongs to an insectoid subspecies of dragon who are bred to be hive-minded drones, their sole purpose to serve their respective clans. Unfortunately her hive was wiped out when she was still only an egg, and while she has tried to fit in with the more 'normal' dragons in her life, she always feels like some part of her is missing.
- She is unable to speak any of the more common dragon languages on Sornieth, although she does understand them; instead she communicates by clacks and clicks which many find off-putting.
