Lore:
Reighn was born with his odd wings, but he never let it stop him or bring him down. He didn't listen when the others told him he'd never be the great guard that he wanted to be because he'd never be able to fly correctly, and his balance would be all off because he didn't have the counter balance of real wings. Perhaps it was the stubbornness inside of him, or just to spite them, he trained harder than anyone's ever trained before.

He was sucked into the vortex that was the Siren Song of the Frozen North. Following what he thought was his heart, he found himself at the mountain. Reighn was, understandably, distraught about this. This wasn't what he wanted! While he was an ice dragon, he hated being in the ice and snow!

Like all others, though, he was still lured there, and he was brought to the Caves that held the Main Portals to the Winter Ridges.

Unlike Empyrean, though, when he found Comet, he didn't leave her side. He felt wrong leaving the white guardian alone in the forest. The skydancer absolutely insisted that she let him be her guard, even though she was so much larger than he. Comet, shockingly enough, indulged him. Reighn hasn't strayed from her side since. He and Doc get along like a house on fire. That is to say, very well.

"It is perhaps the biggest fear of mine that I never will leave my mark on this world."

Picus, as a young dragon, was known as the most handsome dragon around. Many dragonesses and dragons alike came to see him and try to win his heart. But none could succeed. He didn’t wish to be tied down to one dragon, and so he turned them all away. Of course, he meant no ill, he just did not care for that particular dragon. He was aware of how he looked, as they never let him forget, and scorned that fact for many moons. If he was going to find someone to love, then it was going to be because they cared about each other, not because of his ‘beauty’.

The young imp spent most of his time in the library, reading all the books and scrolls he could get his claws on. It was at the library that he found his one true love.

Astronomy.

The stars in the sky held such tales to them, and many of which had stories yet untold. Picus wanted to know everything about it. About the dragons that the stars were named after, about the stars themselves. He needed to know. For perhaps the first time in his life, he’d found himself a purpose. It was one that he hadn’t expected, but it was one that he was more than happy to take into his own hands.

He spent months in that library, gathering all the bits of the stars that he could, and when that wasn’t enough, he packed up all of his belongings and started on a trip across the territories to find more. Along the way, he met some dragons, many of which he regards in high opinion, but he hadn’t seen since. He tried different sorts of things, and even found himself a familiar friend, an Irritated Astronomer. Picus thought that the irony was very funny, but the two bonded nonetheless.

It was in an Arcane city that he found most of his information. As this was close to the end of his trip, he decided it was time to start heading back home, to an ice territory. He didn’t want to return to his old home, as he had mapped almost all of the stars there, and he wanted to be able to help more clans there map their stars. Things like that. Picus also wished to start his own library, and if that clan already had a library, then what would be the point?

Many years had passed since he had been in an ice territory. Decades, even. He was older now, and wiser for it.

His eye turned to a large mountain range, and made the decision that that was where he wanted to go. It would be the closest to the stars one could get, and he’d never been there before. Just another adventure was what he thought it would be.

Of course, it took quite a while to get to the mountains. It was a large mountain range, after all, and the one he was aiming for was just calling to him. His wings carried him, steady and true, to the base. He took camp at the bottom of the peak, just for the night.
Once morning came, he took to the sky. The mountain’s weather was surprisingly clear. Picus is the only mortal dragon that has found his way to the very top of the mountain. What he saw up there, he was certain he would live here forever. The view went on for miles and miles, and he swore he could see as far as the Arcane lands from all the way up here.

Picus would have stayed up there forever, if he could have. However, he was interrupted.

A gargantuan imperial female appeared out of thin air, taking a step beside him. She was covered in bloody bandages, and Picus’ first instinct was to try and help her. He even offered to look at those wounds, but she snapped at him and told him that was none of his business. Picus should not be up here. She seemed a mixture of enraged and fearful. There was an impossible magical aura surrounding her, as though her magic was pooling about her in a dark sea. Everything inside Picus told him that this dragon was a threat.

But he didn’t listen.

He started talking to her as though he’d passed her in the clouds, as though they were on the same level. Kind, foolish Picus. For someone who is supposed to be so knowledgeable, he hadn’t the slightest clue that he had made perhaps the worst mistake anyone on these mountains could ever make.

The sky seemed to crackle, and her sickly golden eyes flashed, and that was the last of the dragon that Picus ever saw. And then, he was falling.

Down and down he tumbled, and his wings stopped working for only a fraction of a second before he hit the ground. The grass. Where was he? He didn’t know.

At least he still had his bags and things intact. And that he wasn’t hurt as bad as he thought he might be. Standing, he tried his best to figure out where he was. Picus travelled far, and eventually he came across a city. It seemed to gleam, but it was so out of place. The imperial came across a group of foraging dragons. One of them squealed, and hid, but the leader asked him who he was.

He was brought to the head of the city, a queen called Comet. She demanded the same of him, where he was from and who he was. Picus presented his many scrolls of documentation of the stars - all of which had dates and the like on them - and told them his story of where he came from, and why he was here. Or, more rather, why he had found the mountain. He told them of the imperial female at the top of the mountain, but that was waved off as a hallucination; these mountains do that sort of thing to dragons, they said, it was probably nothing, they said.

Picus knew otherwise.

It’s been months since that day, and he has his own library. He helps keep records, and works close with Quigley, the keeper of the scrolls. The two get along very well, and the two are like siblings. He enjoys her company, and the two bounce ideas off of each other. Picus insists that she should give herself more credit for the many scrolls already in the library of her making, but Quigley brushes it off more often than not. Picus is happy here, and hopes to share his love of the stars with the others in the city.

Lore:
Many think that Loptr acts awful strange for someone who looks like a normal skydancer. Some theorize that they are some sort of otherworldly being, sent to watch over them. Or, perhaps they are a demon, also sent to watch over them, though for other reasons. Whichever the case, it's the general consensus that Loptr is not the dragon that they say that they are.

They're a very skilled fighter, and definitely use quite a bit of magic while doing so. Loptr is in touch with their magic, which isn't really what you would see. There's really no way to explain it, as it's like nothing anyone has ever seen from here to the other edge of Sornieth. There's no doubt in anyone's eyes that they are very worthy of their job, being one of the few fighters of The Winter Ridges. (Though, these dragons are mostly employed because Jay is a bit paranoid.)

Loptr often is in the library, reading up on anything that Picus has written, and giving pointers of things he might've gotten off by the slightest margin. It's no joke that they hold space very dear to their heart, and they wish to help the Navigators in any way that they can. In fact, they are one of the few that live within the library, in one of the few lofts that Amber installed once she saw how many dragons hardly left.

They do not have many friends, if not only because of the rumors surrounding them. That's not too much of a problem for them, as they enjoy being by themself. It does get a little lonely every now and then, though.

Lore:
Ciorus is the first dragon that was affected by the shade to set claw in the Winter Ridges. None but him are aware of this affliction (other than The Author and Jay, of course). There are nasty thoughts in his mind, tearing him apart from the inside out. He has a lot of love in his heart, and was like that before The Shade came and infected his mind, trying to puppet him. When he was younger, he was heavily affected by their force, but he fought them. Ciorus didn't want to be a monster, he didn't want to hurt anyone. He still stands by that viewpoint, and while the demon in his head, in his body, are trying to sway him their way, he's gotten pretty good at stifling their calls.

Even so, he is worried that one day he will be unable to stave them off, so he keeps himself pretty isolated from the rest of the clan. He's a hunter, even if he doesn't like hurting others, he has to do something to at least halfway satisfy that damn voice. Luckily, the shade doesn't infect that which he catches, so unless the Shade gets half a mind to stop biding time within him, the rest of the dragons are safe.

For now.
