Door + Stairs™: The Sequel
Ikea was lost. He'd cracked out of his eg and stumbled blearily about. That was until a little firefly caught his attention and he started chasing it. After colliding with the ground after a too exuberant pounce, he realized he was quite lost. He couldn't see the sky, the trees were so high! He wandered through the maze of trees and brambles calling out the first word that came to his mind;
"Homebase!"
After a day or two wandering around trying to get out, he slumped down on a piece of pink cloth. Before falling asleep on the surprisingly warm and comfy cloth, he once again called out rather pathetically, "Homebase...!"
Suddenly, the pink cloth moved! It rose and
Turns out that Ikea here had attempted to fall asleep on a Bogsock. Guess he doesn't know a dragon when he sees one. In any case, the big Bogspoon took the little squiggle into her maw and carried him through the maze (literally through in some cases) until they reached a large sheer rockface, with a few dragons milling about. One of them was a large elderly Guardian, prancing around with a newly acquired second hand Skycat- it looked a bit bedraggled and had a chunk missing from one ear, but seemed relatively peppy- the lorge Bogslipper deposited the tiny knick-knack and addressed the elderly Garden thus so:
"I found this. Can I name it Bane?"
Disgruntled, the other dragon momentarily glanced up, squinting at both the tol Bogsnek and the tiny hatchling snick-snock before bluntly replying "No, that's a terrible name. Where did you find it?"
Meanwhile Ikea was licking at his scales, a tear in his eye.
The Bigsock looked down and wrinkled her nose before stating, "I found it in the maze. I think that particular section used to be called Home Depot? A pair of dragons used to sell their hatchlings as furniture there. It was cool."
Again, the Guardan glanced up, not seeming to be paying them any attention. "Home Depot? Can't name a dragon that, they don't allow spaces or - in names." Nobody seemed fazed at the fact that the dragon spoke a symbol. "How does Ikea sound? That sounds suitably Home Depot-y?"
Ikea perked up at that. He liked that. Quite a lot. Grinning he made a high pitched whistling PEEP!! sound. It was final- the little nib-nob was to be named Ikea. Nodding, the Gerkin resumed her frolicking with the ragged Skycat as the Blogship- later to be known as 'Homebase'- and Ikea wandered through the large cave opening in the rock face into their new home.
"Wait a minute..."
Squinting, the Globnar craned her neck around, searching for those two dragons she had been conversing with earlier.
"I don't remember buying these two... And what was that about a pair of dragons selling their hatchlings as furniture??"
