Biography
![]() wandering tendency: low origins: unknown gene plans finished clan importance lore dragon |
![]() personality Torrin is not a particularly social dragon. He comes from a hard life of wandering and fighting in the Plague territory and is battleworn. He likes to be alone. He fears growing soft and not being able to contribute to the clan that has adopted him into their numbers. While he knows that he is getting slower and stiffer, he continues to do what he has done his entire life, so as to keep himself in as good of shape as possible. He has a small soft spot for hatchlings. history Torrin ambled into the clan shortly after Mako did - something that the clan found to be a coincidence. Apparently their home was attractive to old dragons now. Torrin, however, did not behave like an old dragon - he still moved with grace and accurancy. His charge - a small bird that he had called Bloodlust - had passed away after a long life fraught with the same dangers the dragon had seen. Torrin considered this a great success, to show his charge through the entirety of its life without failing once to protect it. In his old age, however, he sought to move away from the dangers of the Scarred Wastelands and into a quieter lair. He wandered for quite some time before finding the large lair in the Reedcleft Ascent. The size of the lair told him that it would need more defenders should an attack happen (he did not know that the most threat that the clan risked was magical attacks from their Arcane neighbours - attacks that he could do nothing about). The clan king accept his proposition, and assigned Torrin to the Gatherers Guild - he would be responsible for scavenging at the edge of the clan territory, and for reporting suspicious activity to Atem directly. Torrin accepted his new task eagerly - being on the edge would give him the opportunity to continue fighting. He got into a few skirmishes on the edges, but most of them were innocent creatures looking to expand their own territory to overlap with the dragon clan's. One particular skirmish was with a hyena. After beating down on the predator, Torrin paused and watched the hyena - clearly the loser - continue to try fighting. He stopped and decided to make the hyena his new adoptive charge. He tended to the hyena on this own in the bamboo instead of taking it back to the Healing House at the core of the lairlands. They grew close, and Torrin named the creature Pockmark. After, he and Pockmark continued to patrol the edge of the lands, returning about once a month to report to the king. On the occasions he does return to the House, Torrin always stops in at the Nursery, to see the young dragons trying to grow into their scales and fur. He has allowed himself to be friendly with the hatchlings, who have taken to calling him Jipa Torrin, despite him not being a family raising dragon himself. He has also allowed himself to drop his guard around another old dragon named Mako, who tends the hatchlings. Midlife Crisis; aka "Torrin's New 'Do" known affiliates |
