Tahlruil

While his mate is the motherly figure of the clan, Tahlruil is the cold-hearted leader without question. All of his children are sent to serve the Archanist in the interest of maintaining the clan's honor and (though he doesn't want to admit it) in the hope of the Arcane dragons eventually becoming dominant.

He takes no pride in fathering children and only picked out Aelther because she proved herself to be a strong dragon that would mother strong children. Had he known that she would take a Mirror, a creature far from social, as her Charge, he would have never taken her as his mate.

As for his Charge, it's the whole clan. He has no choice but to keep the lair and the clan in order and protect it while Aelther focuses on the trivial things.

As for the other dragons, they're welcome to do what they want with their children so long as it doesn't bring shame upon the clan as a whole. This usually means that if they don't join the ranks of fighters or join another clan, they're also sent to the Archanist unless they find a good mate to breed with.

With Aelther constantly bringing in unwanted strays, there's no room for offspring to bum around in the small lair once they're old enough to go out on their own.
