Asvoria the Starlight of the Arcanist

I remember when I left home, so small, so naiive.
The world is cruel, sinful, careless, unjust.
I tried so hard again and again to save them from themselves.
But they never learn, and I have suffered for my efforts.

There was even a time where I tried to end it myself,
I felt so useless, unable to help anyone.
I was alone, I was incompetent.
The war of the deities called for my children and mates
I missed them so much, even though I was so proud.
My crumbling nest reflected my failure
to keep everything together.

Who would have thought
that the patience of such a small dragon
who merely tinkers and reads
would bring my life such joy?

The little ones are so bright,
they bring me soft things.
They cover my hardened scars
with delicate flower petals.

I think I have finally found my home.
