Corvid is in charge of the Hearth Haven's financial affairs and material inventory. He works very closely with The Scavenging Party, which is responsible for most of the Haven's wealth - but also for any bad rep the clan has.

Trying to keep the Scavengers in check is exhausting; Corvid is undeniably the most overworked bureaucrat in the Haven. He tries his best to discourage the robbing of trade partners and potential immigrants of the Haven, as he's the one who has to deal with any disgruntled dragons that come knocking to demand their things back.

Elderly Matriarch

personality: endearing / calculating / secretive

The charismatic figurehead of the once-plague, always resourceful fire clan of Hearth Haven. Bishop is still the official leader, despite being effectively retired after years of conflict, relocation, rebuilding, and finally thriving.

Elder dragons who were around during the Haven's creation know that Bishop is not their leader's true name - they say she used to be an archbishop of the Plaguebringer, a high-ranking servant to the mother of disease. Eventually, the title "Archbishop of the Wrymwound" was shortened by her followers into just "Bishop" and stuck. If asked about it, Bishop asserts that her real name rotted away long ago. When not consulting with her successor Bishop can be found sunning herself on the territory's surrounding obsidian plateaus.

Hearth Haven contains 4 main factions of dragons: The Scavenging Party, The Trades and Craftsdragons, The Flamerest University, and the religious sector containing the Flamecaller's Paladins and the rest of the clergy. The Haven in general is very religious, being governed by a variety of patrons, priestesses, and clerics. With the return of The Ancients, the Haven has found itself with a few new demigods to worship as well.

Overall, dragons of the Ashfall Waste should note that Hearth Haven is a burgeoning settlement with ample industry, culture, and education; though it's not without a darker, more complex side.

Sunder
Our Beloved Hearthfire, the Matriarch's Successor

personality: formidable / stately / benevolent

Hearth Haven has found itself in the midst of very strange times - elemental powers are strengthening, major deities are going quiet, and beasts from before time have moved in next door. Yet, the comparatively mundane quarrels between the Haven's University and it's clergy weighs on the average citizen's mind just as heavily, causing relationships within the clan to strain.

Enter SUNDER, a mysterious and intimidating guardian poised to become the next matriarch of Hearth Haven. Some thought she was a relation of Bishop's, crying nepotism. Others believed she emerged fully-grown from a split in the mantle, a child of the Flamecaller herself. A few did not care where she came from, but worried that she would be another supposed Divine demanding their service.

Sunder put an end to their worries immediately. Though tall tales about her exploits persist, she is universally loved for her seemingly infinite protective strength and duty to the Haven. She became a champion for the lives of the laydragons in Hearth Haven, putting their needs at the forefront of all decision making and legislature. She routinely tends to the forge alongside Taura, defends the territory from those that would threaten it with Mercy, and has even joined in on excursions with the Haven's renowned Scavenging Party.

Sunder's current goal is to improve relations with the ancients living in the area - she sees no reason to fear or revere them. Demigods they may be, but that does not mean she must bow.

Sunder is typically referred to as either "The Hearthfire" or more colloquially as "Our Beloved."

Boreal
Fallen Plague Cleric / Plague Ambassador

personality: gruff / solicitous / crotchety

Though most are too young to recall the early days of Hearth Haven, the clan was originally started by a group of migrants from the Scarred Wasteland. Unable to carve out a stable foothold and under constant threat from Plague clans seeking to expand their territories, Bishop and her small group of followers made the move to the Ashfall Waste. When she was a hatchling, Bishop had known a Fire dragon who enthralled her with tales of towering forges and sparks flying from shining armor - with this promise of the glory of flames, all Bishop's followers were thrilled to be leaving the smell of rot behind.

....All except one. In the early days, before there was head priestesses and patrons and Ancient Ones, there was just Boreal, the Plaguebringer's Cleric.

The Priestesses and Clerics of Hearth Haven are direct representatives for their chosen element. Unlike an Ambassador, who would speak for the clans and dragons from their flight, these holy dragons are mouthpieces for their elemental Gods.

Boreal has since been re-named the Plague Ambassador, much to his chagrin. The voice of the plaguebringer has since fallen out of favour with Hearth Haven, and Bishop wanted Boreal to take a more administrative role looking after their plague residents. Despite her reassurances that it isn't a demotion and it's a much-needed position, Boreal seems filled with resentment. Or perhaps, is simply an old man in a cushy bureaucrats position who longs for bygone days of excitement and turmoil.

Hearth Haven doesn't have direct representation from that many other flights, but support from Wind is essential. As the region closest to Hearth Haven, clans from Wind have the most direct contact and trade deals with the Haven.

Ray is a key player in negotiating these deals, and a guiding hand for immigrants from the Windswept Plateau looking to settle in the Haven.
