Biography
Dustpetal dreams of filling the long-empty position of scholar and archaeologist in her clan and wants to travel the world of Sornieth to do so. She is struck by an extreme sense of duty and a need to overcome the stereotype of pearlcatchers being stuck-up and egotistical.
However, she is very impulsive and doesn't tend to think things through. Dustpetal is desperate to achieve her perceived destiny and will do almost anything to do so.
Traits (expand on later):
4 Pos: Passionate, confident, adventurous, courageous
4 Neg: Impulsive, reckless, impatient, quick-tempered
4 Neutral: Outgoing, stubborn, ambitious, proud
Backstory/character notes:
- Her mother is very domineering and controlling, and her father wasn't around very much
- She has no time for romance in her mind, but may eventually be interested
- She considers her work and its impact, and leaving a legacy, more important than her own survival
- Dustpetal is polyamorous (interested in/preferring a consensual relationship involving more than one partner, in which all parties are fully informed and interested in the arrangement) and asexual, but not aromantic. She has no real preferences gender-wise, as she doesn't care to think about it very much.
- She has an intense fear of failure and is driven by a need to leave something behind after watching several of her siblings die before they could make an impact on the world.
- While she's pretty friendly, she doesn't make attachments easily and isn't currently that welcoming to relationships beyond working ones.
- Not above flirting to get her way with dragons she thinks are attractive and smart.
- Her familiar's name is Publius; the li'l frog on her head is named Philip.
