Steady and reliable, Kilne's been a fixture of Mirage since the outpost first sprouted, wandering in on a breeze with a merchant's caravan and staying just as spontaneously. At first no one expected her to stick around, especially not once they saw her talent for sculpting and delicate ceramics. Certainly she must have been classically trained, from an aristocratic family with plenty of money. She spoke like one of them, gentle and proper. Mirage was too small, too unknown a place for her.

But time passed, and still she had not moved on, and when asked only said that the clay in the area made for exceptional pottery, and why should she move so far from her source? With her pottery came renown, and soon there was a steady trickle of merchants flowing through Mirage not just for respite from the harsh deserts, but to trade for what soon became known as the Mirage style, noted for its sharp bold designs and dragon-fired glazes.

Faysal took months to warm up to her, and months longer still to allow her around the temple, but now it's rare to see them out of sight of one another, and she's since moved her workshop instead, off one of the branches of the main library. When Faysal is unwilling to see reason, Kilne is often asked for advice, and always sways her husband to the right side, eventually.
