Born out of an abandoned egg on a starless night in Starwood Strand, Orfeo hates the path that fate has laid out for him - namely the path of a pathetic, lowly orphan with no family to speak of, save for a powerful, albeit mad sorceress who yearns for the companionship of her steadily growing army of aimless, parentless children. Orfeo despises it. All of it. Love, kinship, warmth - like all other things of the light, they can only serve to ingrain weakness and bow the knees of those who otherwise could have had all the power in the world. Orfeo yearns for power himself, and he cannot comprehend how or why Circe, with her immense magical powers and intelligence, would choose to sacrifice the pursuit of further influence for love. Orfeo is smart - he knows that finding Circe on his own efforts is going to be a waste of his precious time and energy, and so, he joins a band of travelling dragons who seek out the legendary sorceress. Thanks to his wits and street smarts, he takes on the role of strategist, and is put in charge of planning routes and evading potential threats. But unlike the rest, who seem content simply to find her, Orfeo has more in mind - something more sinister than anyone could ever suspect... |
