______ On the walls of the Library stands an unwavering presence, watching over the surrounding ruins. She tests the air, breathing in the thick scent of ozone. A storm is coming. She is ready.

______ Born in the Shifting Expanse, Beira is no stranger to tragedy. When still a hatchling, she witnessed the slaughter of her family at the claws of a traveling band of criminals. Her mother hid her away in a hidden hole too small for any other members of her clan. After emerging days later, afraid and alone, she found herself to be the lone survivor of the attack. Despite being taken in by a neighboring Lightning clan, she found herself restless and unhappy, unable to let herself connect to those around her. Once old enough, Beira wandered across Sornieth, finding shelter with willing clans along the way. She never settled in any one place for long, hoping that somehow in her travels she would find the clan who killed her family. Intent on vengeance, she learned from the various clans who took her in, expanding her education in the arts of fighting and occasionally dabbling in simpler magic. To support herself, she made use of these skills, working as a hired sword for whoever could pay. She quickly made a name for herself, known as a fierce warrior known for her sharp trident and even sharper mind.

______ While working a job on a caravan from the Starfall Isles to the Sunbeam Ruins, Beira accompanied the world-renowned merchant she was protecting when he stopped to deliver a particularly rare vase to the Library of the Gilded Citadel. Among the marble walls and shelves of parchment, she felt something she had never felt before and knew deep in her heart that she had discovered her charge. Seeing the connection between Beira and the Library, the director of the Library Devamatri welcomed her into their clan and took the younger dragon under her wing. When Devamatri and her mate Arche were called by the Lightweaver to deliver a powerful artifact from the Library, she named a startled Beira as the Library's director in her place. Beira reluctantly took her place as head of the library, promising to protect the Archives and the librarians with all her power.

______ Physical appearance

______ Beira's imposing stature and intimidating appearance conceal a deeply caring heart. A life of loss and pain have made it difficult for her to open up to others. The fear of loss caused her to isolate herself from others for much of her life, leaving her ability to connect and communicate stilted. Because of this, her words often come across as cold when she is simply unsure. Despite her past, Beira has come to love the library and all those in her care fiercely, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her new family from harm.
