Biography
ESPER
"Open up your eyes, see the world from where I stand.
Me among the mighty, you caged at my command!"

She was the very first member of the clan. She hatched here, and she fully intends to die here protecting her clan. She started things with her first mate Wynten, who -- truth be told -- she still cares deeply for. She's a noble protector who would do anything to secure the safety of her fellow clan members. Esper can come off too strict or rough around the edges, but she's doing her best to lead a group of people when she has no experience doing so. She periodically worries that her inexperience is costing the clan or showing through, causing other clans to not take them very seriously, but she gives off a strict and imposing vibe despite being a skydancer. Esper had to grow strong and independent quickly, and when she needed him most-- Wynten slipped away. She didn't know that he had been cast as a tribute to the Windsinger to ensure the clan lived on-- she had interpreted it as a great betrayal. She only learned later that he had made a necessary sacrifice to ensure the clan lived to see the next day. When she learned this, she went to every source to see if there was a way to bring him back. When she succeeded Wynten was welcomed back in with open arms, but he never really became Esper's mate again in the same sense. They still love eachother dearly, but they treat one another more as best friends and permanent life partners than lovers. Esper is stubborn when it comes to enforcing the rules, passionate when it comes to the members of her clan and deeply troubled when it comes to thinking of the future. Esper has done her best up until this point to keep the clan afloat, bringing in dragons she believes can help continue the clan's lineage and ensure their continued wellbeing. She feels maybe she could be doing more, or she isn't doing enough, but her anxiety is misplaced. Esper is a good leader with deep compassion, but she worries constantly due to the responsibility that's rested on her shoulders. She does her best to seem resilient in the face of her clan, but she's immensely thankful for having Wynten and her other close friends to confide in when things get hard. She is strong, but not untouchable, and her position as the clan's leader and progenitor leaves her feeling like she has to do it all. |

but those were the childish wishes of someone who was blind."
