Biography

MANZANITA
Healer

"True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less." -C.S. Lewis

Crimson Wing Silks
Scarlet Sylvan Lattice
Magician's Herb Pouch
Burlap Mantle
Mender's Healing Staff

From the moment Manzanita was hatched, she was constantly given compliments about her lovely red feathers. Every time she introduced herself to another dragon, they would all say "Oh my, what a unique trunk you have! I've never seen a tree dragon quite like you!" Occasionally, dragons would even give her special presents to show their appreciation for her beauty.

Naturally, all of these praises inflated her ego, causing Manzanita to be quite vain and self-centered. Slowly, she began to feel as if she were entitled to luxury and became obsessed with buying expensive jewelry to compliment her beautiful feathers. Of all her body parts, she was most concerned about decorating her wings, for she feared that they looked dull in comparison to her bright red body and peach belly.

Soon, Manzanita realized that she had been pushing her friends away in her vain quest to become more beautiful. Realizing her mistakes, she made a vow to humble herself and renounce the things that had been consuming her life. She took off all of her expensive jewels and resigned herself to an isolated hut deep in the Everbloom Gardens of the Viridian Labyrinth to live as a monk for seven months. During this time, she studied healing magick and meditated on what she believed to be the three most important virtues: humility, self-discipline, and above all, charity.

When Manzanita finally returned to her clan, she brought a vast knowledge of herbs and healing practices. Her fellow dragons were excited to see her again, but they were confused as to why she had left. Manzanita told them of the many important lessons she had learned in her isolation, and promised that from that point forward, she would live to serve her clan as a healer and spiritual advisor.
