Heliodor was raised since the moment she hatched to be a leading philosopher. Her family was famous for its studies of the Sundial Terrace. They had been there for countless generations, and were looked upon with enormous respect. And though study was something the young dragon had taken to instantly, the sundial was not enough to hold a lifetime of interest. Didn't they realize that there was a whole world out there? Heliodor spent her time as a hatchling fighting them constantly for the right to live her life by her own terms.

How funny, then, that moment she determined to leave was the moment a hot-blooded Ridgeback swept into town and captured her heart. Heliodor reasoned that perhaps it wasn't really love. Perhaps Helios merely represented everything she wanted in life, freedom and a primal wildness that seemed so at odds with her innate reserve. She had always been told she was cold. But Helios accepted all of her without reservation, the coldness and the fire underneath. The Sunbeam Ruins was not the place for either of them.

It was in the bitter cold of the Southern Icefield that Heliodor met a new breed of analysts. Their approach to study was so different! They opened up new avenues of thought and exploration that Heliodor had never considered. And helping her all the way was Soleil. How enigmatic that ice dragon was, so sparkling and vivacious. She too opened up new avenues of exploration, and the two fell deeply in love. Her heart never abandoned Helios though. His wildness still pulled her. Heliodor knew that she would not stay in the Southern Icefield forever, there was so much more to discover. But for the time she fell deeper in love with both of her sun-bright lovers, making a home together amidst the snow.
