He found out the truth MossClaw was an orphan, his parents not caring enough or possibly caring to much and leaving him behind. The wind flight is strong in him possibly his flight stronger in him then NightStar's own. His urge to keep moving - to explore the world to travel by the winds.

The only thing keeping him here is NightStar, at first he thought his feelings were just brother and sister love, but it grew to something more. Though NightStar has yet to see his love for her, even so he will stay by her side until NightStar realizes or returns his affections.
