--Keese: Clever bird

He'd never thought it was a mistake to help another dragon. Even mirrors knew better than to bite the hand that healed them, and this one was no different; Fenja was happy to snap and growl about the opponent that had left her hurt, but she hadn't turned her teeth and claws on Keese.
But now she didn't want to leave. Maybe it was a miscommunication? Mirrors stayed in their packs, they didn't latch on to other species without a reason. He had to wonder if perhaps she was one of those odd ones who just wanted some company... He ought to make it a little clearer that he didn't mind her leaving, probably.
Except he did sort of feel safer with her around, and he'd sort of been wandering for a while. It wouldn't be too bad if he stayed with her for a bit, right?

Keese is in theory the second highest authority in the group... well, only in theory. When this band of dragons was smaller, he'd been the one organizing things. Rationing out servings of food, finding places to sleep, that sort of thing. As more and more dragons joined them, though, Keese could no longer manage those things by himself. He retreated into his studies instead, leaving duties to Fenja and mostly Kallian. As of now nobody quite takes his leadership seriously. Keese doesn't particularly mind -- he'd much rather have the time to learn alchemy and pass his knowledge onto the younger dragons in the clan.

Fenja - Partner

She's not quite so abrasive once you get used to her. And Keese has had years to do so; he'd never really considered what he'd want to do with his life aside from learning about magic and alchemy, so he just sort of forgot to part ways with Fenja at some point. She was a good fighter and took a vague interest in his knowledge. Their arrangement worked out, and eventually they found themselves rather close.

Lilin - His joy

She inherited his magic, you know! Keese is very excited to share his knowledge with his daughter, perhaps to the point that he overlooks a bit of her thirst for power. Fenja's a bit better with the whole reprimanding thing, anyways. Keese hopes if he leads by example Lilin will catch on eventually.

Wisteria - Still his daughter

Wisteria might've left a long while ago, but Keese still misses her. He writes to her often, telling her any exciting discoveries he's made or events that've happened. Maybe someday she'll come back and visit, he hopes.

Bluejay - Good kid

Bluejay seems to have things figured out, even if it means Keese doesn't get to see him much anymore. But Keese has no trouble penning plenty of letters and sending them off to wind territory. He's very proud of Bluejay's intelligence, at least.

Sachiel - Excellent aptitude

Keese loves Sachiel, especially for the kid's interest in alchemy and learning in general. And Sachiel is so, so smart. Keese thinks he could learn just about anything he tried to, and to that end he's happy to heap texts and scrolls on the little mirror. Anything Sachiel asks for, Keese will most certainly deliver.

Kiroki - Student

A very quick learner! Keese has noticed that Kiroki takes easily to just about any lesson he can give in magic, but the coatl doesn't seem quite that motivated. Maybe his true interest lies elsewhere?

Tephra - Student

A very bright pupil! Tephra is always eager to learn, even if her intuitive understanding of magic is a lot different from Keese's. It likely helps that they both are native to the lightning element. But regardless of her status as his student, he can always appreciate a good, lively chat with the nocturne.
