Few dragons can be said to be as popular with the youngsters in the Shimmerspire as Halley. Through a combination of his innate Ice magic and fresh dairy and produce, he expertly creates ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, and a number of other delicious desserts--all of which he hands out daily in his own creamery located in the market district. Every festival he brings out special, elementally themed creations to give out.

Some would think in the subzero temperatures of the South there would be few customers in the mood for frozen treats--and they'd be dead wrong. It's considered the ideal treat among many locals who are predisposed to handling the cold, as well at the hatchlings, of course, who shriek in equal parts horror and delight at their brainfreeze.

Halley adores the hatchlings. As he was one of the very first generation hatched and raised in the Spire since it's reactivation, he considers it his utmost responsibility to aid in the ushering in of each future clutch. When he first discovered this passion, he struggled with how to act around them. In an attempt to take care in leaving a good impression on them, he often overthought the potential of inadvertently being a bad influence. In particular, this irked their teacher Abdifwlch, who finds him bumbling and incompetent. He got the hang of it with time, though, and has even managed to make an unsteady peace with her. He works hard to be a positive, trustworthy presence in their lives, as well as to get to know each individually. Many heartfelt goodbyes have been said as past generations have grown old enough to hear the call of wonders outside the clan borders. He works hard to keep in touch with each, and as much as he bemoans the infrequency of their letters home, he treasures every one.
