Telly

The hard-to-read head of the clan. A devout follower of Shadowbinder.

Once a lonely orphan struggling to survive, she has become a powerful clan leader with many allies and children. She is perhaps so completely suited to be a leader because she so rarely exerts control over anyone. She has a kind, helpful heart and a distinct flair for mischief and misleading people for kicks. Never anything overly malevolent, but all within the spirit of shadows.

She has a strong front, and always acts confident in difficult circumstances, but has a lot of internal anxiety. She is good at pretending she doesn't, however, and everyone turns to her for advice. Having repressed and pushed a confident, leader-filled image since she was a child gathering up misfits, it can be hard for her to assess her own emotions sometimes. Luckily, she has her inseparable companion Ezekiel. Unfortunately, he can sometimes be too prying, serious and coddling for her, even if she loves him.

Her strong front isn't entirely undeserved - she has been a powerful magic user since childhood.

Very attracted to trinkets, keeps the place cluttered up, and a petty thief. This may be due to her childhood of living on very little - she's a bit of a hoarder as a result.

Her pokerface is renowned.

* Although Telly met and befriended many familiars from her youth until now, the one she immediately clicked with is her shadow sprite. The two helped each other out when they were both younger and had nothing, and now are companions who tend to always be in throwing distance of one another.

If there's any crack in Telly's pokerface, it's her - one look at Itty and you know mischief is on the sprite's mind. And probably on Telly's, too.

Two of her sons remain with her clan - Ichy and Kincaid. A mother shouldn't play favourites, but she does baby Kincaid over his older brother who she thinks has some growing to do.

She also has a good relationship with her partner's other children, Sparrow and Poppy. She is able to understand and relate to Sparrow a bit more than her father Ezekiel has been able to.
