Biography

Sub-Species: Old Soul

Badru is an Egyptian name, meaning ‘born during the full moon’.

Lead Priest for Coyolxauhqui's cult/following. She occasionally appears to him, and he's obsessively in love with her, desperate to please. She's the first person to ever show him love.

Her hand reached out and slowly pressed against the edge of his hood, fingers radiating coldness even as her eyes were impossibly warm. His breath stuttered, frozen between leaning into her touch and flinching away. Coyolxauhqui seemed to notice, her grin softening into a sad smile.

"Are you alright, Badru?" Her voice was smooth as melted chocolate, gentle as the waves at low tide. He nodded, his stomach fluttering with anxiety and reluctant excitement at the sound of her saying his name. Coyolxauhqui lit up at the motion, and Badru felt like he was staring at the full moon during a cloudless night.

She pushed off his hood and he watched her wearily, unsure of how she'd react to the deep scars on his face, his hair scattered with grey despite only being nineteen turns. But her expression did not change, her smile did not dim, and he found himself speaking out despite his shyness.

"I know I'm not- I'm not worthy of you, my Lady." He stuttered, his fists balling up underneath the long sleeves of his cloak, his gaze turning to the ground as his face heated. Cold fingers touched his chin and they tilted his head up, so they were eye to eye again.

"You're beautiful, Badru," Coyolxauhqui said fiercely, her eyes full of indescribable love. Badru felt tears forming at her words, and her hand cupped the side of his face. "My most devoted follower, lover of the light I bring, leader of the Lunevs. You shine bright as a star. You are precious to me."

Badru didn't realize he was crying until her fingers wiped away his tears. She stepped even closer, the powerful aura of her magic calming him. She smelled like pine and rasberries, her dark hair glimmering with starlit secrets.

"I will return," Coyolxauhqui whispered, and Badru felt her lips brush his scarred forehead. He found himself speechless, watching wide eyed as her form vanished into the shadows.
