Judgement

Long ago, there was an ancient Earth clan who resided on the same grounds their ancestors lived upon, and their ancestors before them were buried beneath the soil. During a skirmish between Stormcatcher and Earthshaker, a stray bolt flew from the massive mantis of a dragon, and struck the clan. This resulted in several changes. Many dragons died from the impact of the blow, and the survivors experienced a new wave of power down to their bones. The survivors were granted powers of the Surge, as they called it, the power to manipulate their surroundings using the electric currents that flowed through their veins now. It turned many dragons Earth eyes into a stunning blue, as if to reflect this new power. The spirits of the dead who rested there were reanimated, and the spirits roamed very freely. One could detect a spirit nearby by feeling static in the air.

While this power was seen as a gift by some, others who had lost many loved ones to the catastrophe considered this to be a curse. One dragon who was granted powers but watched the death of his family happen before his eyes took his own life, swearing he'd serve the Earthshaker in the afterlife and fight against Stormcatcher for taking the lives of his loved ones. His broken soul was trapped in an amulet, and buried with him in the ancient burial grounds the clan had used for many years.

The clan lived on for quite a while, but it was indeed as if the clan was cursed. Survivors sometimes died in the process of learning their new powers, overexerting their power or accidentally electrocuting others, or even themselves. Not many dragons lived too long, and elders died off quickly. The burial grounds began to rapidly fill, and dragons began to have problems finding places to bury their dead.

Their children were born with The Gift as well, and the children tended to be better at mastering their powers, being born with them rather then having the power thrusted upon them. Some were born as plain Earth dragons, but the traces of the curse still lay in their veins.

Now, Sandstorm, a lost member of this tribe who turned up in the Hewn City's shoreline, being reunited with the necklace that carried the curse of Grounding, has decided to bring the clan back its roots, to return the necklace to its resting place and set the wayward spirit to rest.


Judgement is among the very last of his clan members, and is well versed in his clans culture and has as close to mastered his Grounding powers as anyone. Upon finding Sandstorm is a lost member of the tribe and has brought in new members, along with an amulet with the spirit of another, he celebrates, happy to find another family member as well as host such a variety of dragons, and decide if they were to rebuild the clan they would take in outsiders too, but never forget their roots.
