Born to a clan of water, this Spiral never felt that he belonged with them; his scales the crimson of fire and not the ocean of blue as his kin, and this alone alienated him from his clan. He longed to swim in not cool oceans but burning lakes of lava. An unusual calling to a Dragon supposed to be loyal to the Tidelord.

Traveling to the home of the Flamecaller, The Mather, this Spiral had no idea what he was doing or where he was going. Only that he needed to go to the Ashfall waste, being drawn there like a Guardian on his Journey.

Once in the Ashfall Waste, this young Spiral had only one option if he wished to survive in the broiling, unforgiving environment and he infected himself with the fire quartz gems that now cover his entire body. These fire quartz are a gift from The Mather herself, allowing any who would dare to attempt such a dangerous endevour to survive in her burning lands; her approval to those who wish to pay tribute to her and her flames.

Once infected, the Spiral renamed himself FireQuartz after the gems that allow him to thrive in what he believes should have been his home land, his tribute and thanks to the FlameCaller; shedding all infection from the waters he once grew up in after dipping into the lava pools.

Only then did FireQuartz find his true clan with a fire Guiardian named Onslaught; a powerful clan leader who was rejected from his home as much as FireQuartz was and the two became close friends after they met in the Colisum.

The perfect balance of fire and water, FireQuartz was the best choice to become the clan's water representative's guard, as FireQuartz does not have an ounce of diplomacy in his fiery scales. Although he cringes at the fact he must travel home with Caspian to deal with clan matters of water, FireQuartz does it time and time again for his clan. Occasionally he sees members of his old clan, and does everything in his power to avoid them when he is in the Tidelords realm, not needing to hear their pleading for his return or scorn when he refuses.
