ticking time time time in a sort of runic rhyme

All things must die one day. All will turn to ash and stardust, the graceful towers of carven stone where lordlings take their meals, the deer in the meadows and the sunlit western steppes, the weary ruins haunted by the Shade and tar-black swamps where no light falls. All rushing towards doom. All hurtling into the night together.

It is, in the end, just a matter of time. Sonder was smuggled out of the True Blood cult as a child, but not before one of the Cult's mages used an experimental spell on her that gave her the ability to see the workings of the universe. She views the passage of time as golden sparks slowly sinking in the air around her, and is sometimes afforded rare glimpses of the distant future. Her gift has made her nervous and reclusive, able to detect the lifelines of the dragons around her.

(Not that many dragons care to linger about her- there is a stillness and a sense of vastness that hangs around the young Ridgeback and unsettles those who spend too long in her presence.)
