Lortua is not exactly what you would expect from a clan leader. Single-mindedly devoted to the Lightweaver, she's not naturally gifted with wisdom, critical thinking or leadership skills.

She was born from an abandoned egg, in a large and busy Light clan where no one had very much attention to pay to a foundling Fae. Lonely and isolated, she spent time with the priest of a neighbouring clan, an elderly Imperial who enjoyed having the little Fae around to teach; while Lortua initially considered exaltation, the priest showed her there were other ways to serve, and she decided to found her own clan.

By all rights, her fledgling clan should have fallen apart before it got started. However, with the help and guidance of others who had a better idea of what they were doing, she's managed to become the proud leader of a peaceful clan devoted to study and scholarship. Recently, she's also begun to dedicate some of her time to personally training those who are going to serve the Lightweaver.

Like most fae, Lortua speaks in a monotone; her monotone, however, is very high-pitched and screechy, giving the impression that she's yelling everything in great excitement. She's very flighty and easily distracted from anything but her dedication to Lightweaver - which has only grown more fervent since the summer solstice, when she woke with beautiful golden markings on her wings, a sign of her deity's favour.
