"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

"Once upon a time" is how all stories begin, and so does Hope's. Once upon a time, two regular eggs got tainted with a touch of the Shade. The Sages, fearing the tiny dragon inside would hatch to become evil, didn't know what to do.

One day, one of them had the idea to expose the eggs to elemental magic. The force of their individual powers combined, he said, should create a powerful beam of energy, hopefully enough to drive away the Taint for good. They studied, and studied, trying to find a better solution, but they surmised it had to be done, or else the eggs had to be smashed to pieces.

They cast their magic for days, while others were in charge of bringing them food and sustain their life. When they were done, one egg was shining like a prism, while the other was darker than the blackest night. Saddened, the Sages resolved to destroy the second egg and let it be forgotten, but they hadn't foreseen that the energy they spent would accelerate the growth of the tiny dragons. The two eggs hatched, and out came Hope and Despair. Brothers, playmates, archenemies, friends. A complicated relationship.

Hope's gijinka form is a young, happy kid, wearing a greek toga. His hair is a pale blond color, has pale eyes. A couple of small cloudy wings are on his back. He's missing a tooth, and hopes that the Tooth Fairy will come soon to retrieve it.
