Obsidian was raised with the Plague mindset that violence is the solution to all problems, and survival is all that matters. He grew up defensive and angry under his father's claws, and when he grew big enough to be a threat, he was chased out of his birth Clan to the edges of the territory.

When the fledgling Rotwillow Clan found him, he was a hostile, antisocial dragon, and it's taken him a long time to try and unlearn that. In the early days he would hide in the deepest corners of the lair, tensing up every time anyone approached. Only the progenitors and Jakdor could get close, and gradually he began to trust them, and started to open up to the rest of the Clan.

He never felt comfortable taking on a leadership role, but has built up to being the Deputy of the Rotrock Faction. He enjoys helping Jakdor and Transcender run things, and if he needs to unwind, he goes and explores the Wasteland. He still has the typical Wildclaw hotheadedness, but he's mellowed out a lot, and he's thankful to have found a home where he can be himself.
