Biography
Rogaldorn is a skilled fisher and forager, but his true role is harder to describe. As the most seasoned member of the Doomed Clan, he has taken it upon himself to, for lack of a better term, keep the clan from self-destructing. He alerts Russ to problems, smooths out relations with the local centaur herd, keeps an eye on Sathonyx's illicit activities, heads off Volka's rampages, and dozens of other things. The clan definitely owes its survival to his social skills, which confuses him, because he didn't know he had any worth mentioning.
A solitary Bogsneak, Rogaldorn spent most of his life living semi-nomadically - foraging on his own in the spring and summer, and trading and wintering with several different clans. But when Russ and Volka embarked on their mad scheme to start a clan together, an old friend from Russ's clan begged a favor of him: watch over the two, keep them alive, and, when their clan inevitably failed, bring them safely home. This elder dragon saw great potential in Russ, and did not wish for him to die from youthful arrogance.
And so Rogaldorn became the clan's third member, after Russ and Volka themselves. Amazingly, the Doomed Clan was not, in fact, doomed (the name stuck, though). Silently, Rogaldorn bemoans the end of his independent lifestyle. On the other hand, he would be lying if he said he did not appreciate his role in the young clan, and Rogaldorn never lies.
Personality-wise, this dragon is extremely straightforward and blunt. He does have a sense of humor, but one which other dragons have a hard time understanding. For example, he thinks Coatls look ridiculous with their tiny legs and protruding tongues - something which annoys Sathonyx to no end. He is devoutly faithful to the Icewarden and can sometimes be coaxed into showing a philosophical side.
Rogaldorn has no permanent mate (and few close friends, for that matter), but he does occasionally dally with Jessica.
