It can be hard to imagine that this noodly and unfocused dragon could ever be in charge of naming every other dragon in the clan, and yet here he is. Kyan is an exceptionally clever dragon with a wide vocabulary. He's studied several different languages and dialects, as well as being a history buff and a bit of a writer himself. (Terrible poetry, mostly.) And all of this bounces around in that giant skull of his as often as he's awake.

Kyan often look as though he has twenty things to do and no idea where to begin on any of them. He's always got at least three books with him and maybe a few empty scrolls, but he spends more time making sure they don't shake loose from his person than actually using them. All the same, the surefire way to grab his attention is to tell him that you're nameless. Every dragon that does not enter the clan with a name sees him and is read over by his eyes. He'll gladly bestow them a name that he makes sure they approve of, and is quickly swept up by his other duties again.

His one solace above all are books. Kyan can't find time to lay down and eat a meal in the evening but he can spend hours, days, poised in front of an ancient text, head lodged in a thousand different stories. Granted, sometimes even that's not enough and he's been known to have three books upon in front of him at once, but at least it settles him down a little.
