Ceres was a hatchling nocturne, left in the fields of sun beam ruins. Lost and scared, she created a small fire hoping to get someone’s attention. She succeeded in doing so when Seraphim and Silvana came running to the light, unsure what it might have been that caused such flames. Ceres saw the gorgeous skydancer Seraphim and immediately jumped into her arms.

Seraphim took Ceres into her sleeping quarters for the night for some well deserved rest but was startled to wake up to a skydancer sleeping in the guest bed instead a nocturne. Ceres was unsure of how it happened but really had no problem with the new look. She thought she looked great and fit into the Solar Song clan fantastically. (However this transformation made Seraphim and other dragons uneasy, having realized how easily influenced this young dragon was.)

Besides shapeshifting, another one of Ceres's abilities is to be able to read the fortunes of others within the flames of her candles. Everyone in Solar Song enjoyed her little tidbits of information she gave. Ceres felt at home among her new family and never wanted to leave.

All good things come to an end, though. Ceres found herself being pushed out of the clan for reasons that she didn't quite comprehend. She was forced to wander away from the place that she thought that she could call her home for decades more. She let her wings take her with the wind until she was away from the comforting eternal twilight of the forests under the watch of the Shadowbinder.

Ceres was uncertain of how many days and nights passed before she was confronted by another dragon. As was his duty as a guard of the Wild Beats, Albedo challenged the lone skydancer. The challenge turned to questioning, the questioning resulted in Ceres being escorted to the leaders of the Wild Beats. Iska soon made her decision on what to do with the skydancer after hearing her story, and so began Ceres's stay in the home of the dragons of the wind.
