They say she walks in dreams, or sometimes they say that dreams just find their way to her on their own. They say that when a dream wants to be more than just a dream, when a dream takes on a life of it own, it must first go to the Lady Maebh for approval. Sometimes they will say they've dreamt of her, and they know that it was a fortuitous sign, for she was kind and sweet, and they can feel the good that will be in the coming days. Others that claim to see her in dreaming tell that it is the worst of omens, for she is cold and unforgiving, and they fear the punishment to follow. They say much, but know little. Meabh the Legend was a Queen in her time, but being a queen is tiresome, especially when that which you reign over is so hard to grasp, so hard to hold. And Meabh always did love to hold the things she called her own. Meabh is content now, in this new clan of lost-and-foundlings, basking lazy afternoons in the Lightweaver's warmth. She has a mate here, one with not a jealous bone in his body, and friends with which to share knowledge and understanding. She does not walk the dreamlands anymore, but sometimes they still find their way to her. And she tries to be kind while she's there, but if your dreams are of an evil sort, a reflection of the most evil of hearts, do not wish to find yourself in her company. You may find it hard to wake. |
