The dream does not sleep. The dream is wide awake, home at last, delighted by their return.

The dream named Laurent has been trying to return for a long time, building up their strength with every attempt. This is the first one to have succeeded, and so spectacularly too. The tether that bound them, however loosely, to the waking world has diffused away, and all that distinguishes Laurent from the dreams around them is the way they seem unable to change forms and meld again into the matter of the dream world they are part of. Laurent knows they and the mountains and the wood are one, all shifting dreams, but their siblings do not seem to agree. No matter. Laurent will make them see.

In the meantime, Laurent has not forgotten the face of the dreamer who ripped them free. He deserves their visits, every single one.
