she finds trouble

  Hiltrud likes to charge in first and figure out if it was a good idea later. This makes her Guardian, Toes, apoplectic on a regular basis. The problem is that Hiltrud, unlike the other members of the Clan of the Outcast who have found themselves to be Charges, has no intention of letting an overprotective Guardian keep watch over her. She's been on her own since she left the clan's creche (or at least as alone as any member of a communal clan can be), and she would like to stay that way.

She was found as an egg by the clan's Snapper traders in a lair that had clearly been abandoned, and was taken to the clan's creche and hatched by Chalcedony. Hiltrud has plenty of friends within the clan, but her desire to explore the rest of the world is strong. She has a wanderlust, much like her other Snapper clanmates, but has not learned a set route to follow. So, she travels where her whims take her, and meets many interesting dragons. Much to her dismay, Toes follows after her on these journeys. She used to be able to lose him for a few days when he had to stop and sleep, but he recently had Tetanus change him into a Snapper so that he could better keep up with his Charge. Hiltrud had hoped that this might quell his protective instinct, but it doesn't seem like that happened. Now, Toes can keep track of her better than ever, and Hiltrud is slowly coming to terms with the fact that she might be stuck with this dragon for a long, long time.
